ReplyDeleteGreat talk!
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice refresher on what mercy and justice actually are and how they relate to one another. Throughout the year of mercy, I've been encouraged to do the spiritual and corporal works of mercy, but without an understanding of what mercy is, they are simply good actions.
As I continue to do works of mercy, I can reflect that the person's needs are being fulfilled, that their humanity is recognized. That will help me focus on the person in need, and not my personal experience and feelings while I serve others.
Thanks for sharing, Dominic. That is a great thought! I'm glad this was helpful.
